Terms of Use & Refund Policy
Welcome to upahillsborough.com, operated by UPA Hillsborough ("we," "us"), an independently owned League Operator licensed by the United States Professional Poolplayers Association ("UPA National"). By using this site or joining the league, you agree to these terms.
1. The league & membership
UPA Hillsborough runs UPA-sanctioned pool league play in Hillsborough County. Membership is an individual membership: Rolling year — expires one year from the date dues are paid. Additional nightly dues are paid in person at your venue and are not collected through this site. League play is governed by UPA National's standardized rules; local custom rules are not permitted under the UPA license.
2. Eligibility
UPA Hillsborough is open to players of all ages and sets no minimum age. Some host venues have age restrictions (for example, 18+ or 21+ bars), and we'll match you to a venue that fits.
Under 18: if the date of birth on an application is under 18, the application requires a parent or legal guardian's name and email address and their confirmation that they consent to the minor's participation; by giving that confirmation, the parent or guardian accepts these terms on the minor's behalf. We rely on the accuracy of what is entered — we do not independently verify it, and we do not write to the guardian's address to confirm before processing the application (see section 8 of our Privacy Policy).
By registering, you confirm the information you provide is accurate. When you submit a membership application we record the date, time, IP address, and the version of these terms and our Privacy Policy shown at the top of each page, so both sides can tell later exactly what was agreed to. (Registering for a single event through an event page is a lighter-weight form and does not record a terms version.)
3. Your account & conduct
You are responsible for the accuracy of your application and for conducting yourself according to UPA rules and good sportsmanship. We may suspend or remove members who violate UPA rules or these terms, consistent with UPA National policy.
4. Payments
Membership fees are shown when you apply and are collected in person — cash, Venmo, or Zelle — at league venues. Discounts (e.g., early-bird pricing) apply only during their stated window; the price shown when you apply is what you owe.
5. Refund & cancellation policy
Membership fees are non-refundable once paid, except where required by law or approved by UPA Hillsborough at its discretion (for example, a duplicate or mistaken payment). To request a review, contact us at upa_hills@yahoo.com.
6. Intellectual property & UPA marks
UPA, EVOLVE YOUR GAME™, The Evolution of Pool™, League of Champions™, and related marks are used under license from UPA National and remain their property. Site content is owned by UPA Hillsborough or its licensors.
7. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
Participation in pool league play and league events is at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, UPA Hillsborough is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or participation in the league.
8. Third-party services
The site relies on and links to third-party services (UPA National's dashboard at upatour.me, and others), and dues may be paid via Venmo or Zelle. Your use of those services is subject to their terms.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
